Will Kris Jenkins Be the Newest player to Wear the Blue and Gold?
The Rock Hill Herald has reported that that Rams are the top contender to aquire Panthers defensive tackle, Kris Jenkins. The only problem comes in the negotiations. Though the Panthers want to get rid of Jenkins and the Rams are very interested, the Panthers asking price is a little more then the Rams are willing to give up. Reportedly, no teams have offered higher then a third round draft pick for the former Pro Bowler. The Panthers will have to realize that Jenkins isn't the player he once was and will have to lower their asking price. The Rams have two picks in the second round already. If the Panthers do not choose to accept a third round pick, they may end up keeping Jenkins. Jenkins was the second round selection of the Panthers back in the 2001 NFL draft, 44th overall. Was an alternate to the Pro Bowl in 2002 and made the squad in 2003. Jenkins was bit by the injury bug and only player 5 games in 2004 and 2005 due to knee and shoulder injuries. Jenkins work ethic has been in question as of recent. He can still be a big help to any defense up the middle. If the Rams do aquire Jenkins in a trade, He most likely will rotate in with La'Roi Glover and Jimmy Kennedy. Labels: Kris Jenkins, Panthers, Trade Rumor |
